The 23 years old Brazilian forward of LA Galaxy joined the American club on a loan deal that will run up until the end of the season as he made his way from Fluminese to the Major League Soccer club, Los Angeles Galaxy. Samuel expressed what it feels like transferring from different leagues and playing style.
“I feel good. I don't feel it's the ideal of where I want to be at. The game in America is much faster and more athletic than in Brazil, with tighter defending and an emphasis on physical play. It's a little different here. It's touch-touch-and-go, and over there you pass, you hold and you go. It's definitely slower in Brazil.”
Samuel along with Rob Friend arrived to Los Angeles Galaxy as offseason additions that are expected to add variety into the attacking department of the squad. If you think LA Galaxy now have the strength to compete for the title, place your bet on football at betfred!
The Irishman Robbie Keane has worked together with Samuel on a few occasions and has been impressed by the Brazilian forward.
“I've been very impressed since he's been here. He's a goal-scorer that likes to play on the shoulder, and I think he will cause defenders a lot of problems.”
Keane said he's worked with Samuel the last few weeks “doing certain stuff, maybe not for me but for Samuel, so he can understand which way I like to play, just so he's aware of what I'm trying to do. He's a clever forward. He makes good runs. I'll certainly be able to pick him out.”
Juninho and Marcelo Sarvas are some other Brazilians which have helped Samuel in adapting into his new club and surroundings and Samuel even considers them to be like members of his family.
“They are family. I feel like they're my brothers, we’re always together, we're always hanging out, we're always talking. They're always visiting me, or I'm always visiting them.” Samuel admitted.
