RONALDO AND RAMOS CHASE RECORD IN UCL FINAL

Real Madrid influential team players Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos are chasing one big record when they play Juventus in the UEFA Champions League final.

It would be their first La Liga and Champions League double since 1958. Ronaldo and Ramos could join the elite league of players that have scored in three Champions League finals.

Since the rebranding in 1992, no player has scored in more than two finals. Raul scored in the 2000 and 2002 final; Barcelona duo Lionel Messi and Samuel Eto’o have done do too. Others from non-La Liga sides are Hernan Crespo, Filippo Inzaghi, Daniele Massaro, Karl-Heinz Riedle and Diego Milito.

This record is for only the Champions League as Alfredo Di Dtefano and Ferenc Puskas have seven goals in European Cup finals.

Ramos and Ronaldo would have to beat goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon to achieve such a feat when they meet in Cardiff. The veteran would be at his best as he seeks a crowning achievement after an illustrious career. He has never won the Champions League and this could be his last shot.

Ronaldo scored his first final goal for Manchester United before scoring when Los Blancos did the La Decima. Ramos has scored in the two recent finals against Atletico Madrid and he could do so against a resolute Juve defence.

Ramos has been spectacular with his goal scoring even as a defender. He is one defender who scores even more than strikers. On the other hand, Ronaldo has been in very good form of late and could notch up the feat.
